The Health Sciences Universe™
The Health Sciences Universe product is an integrated enterprise-scale set of insurance, clinical, disability and administrative applications that are designed to operate on the Internet and share a common set of core databases.
The applications included in the enterprise version of the product include integrated administrative and financial programs and the following research and clinical applications:
- Home — The "home" application providing the table of contents, news, updates and public information regarding the product; does not require login for security.
- DBA Workstation — The professional user's application for controlling Oracle, the databases, applications and the running enterprise product. Provides a computer-aided design and development environment and Requirements Management solution for developers and other professional computer users.
- Research & Development — The principal application for building healthcare groups, claims, encounter, clinical data structures and vocabulary. The R&D application controls the source data and organizes it for classifications, analyses, research and healthcare program design. This application builds the core relationships among healthcare, personal, clinical, administrative and financial data and maintains the vocabularies associated with these data sources.
- Integrated Health & Care Management — The core application for patient management by physicians, nurses and others. Includes case management, order entry, reporting and charts and graphs on each patient. Clinical trial, adverse event, patient classifications, risk assessment and communications are also managed. Workspaces exist for organizing patient data and securely communicating with patients, their families and other clinicians.
- Personal Health & Mobile Applications — The core mobile health and device management application. Mobile health transactions, patient orders and secure messages are managed for hundreds of cell phones, handheld computers and mobile devices. Also manages the acquisition of mobile home-based data from devices in the home such as cholesterol, blood pressure and pulse oximeters, questionnaires, surveys and clinical trials.
