The Health Sciences Universe™ product is an integrated set of Internet applications plus telecommunications, transaction processing and computer-aided design and engineering tools written entirely in Oracle.
The product is designed around approximately 10,000 Oracle software functions that create HTML and render more than 1,000 forms, reports and charts and graphs which can be moved among and rendered on a device through a dozen applications that are completely portable. The product is entirely written in HTML and uses customer-modifiable style sheets (CSS forms) and report generators on each report page to customize solutions for each company's or user's document styles.
The product comes with one or more integrated web servers and employs secure, single sign-on and audit controls for all applications.
The product does not use any local code in a user's workstation, requires no downloading of any code for any user and allows scaling and ease-of-use for medium- and large-scale customers.
The product is completely designed for and operated over either an Intranet internal network or the Internet. The product is fully integrated with Oracle Weblogic Internet servers, including Apache and web publishing and analytics using Oracle BI Publisher.
The product supports, over the Internet, secure and audited access to portable and handheld computers, home WiFi Internet access, home medical devices, real-time device transactions processing and support for iPhone®, iPad® and other Internet appliances.
Operation of the product over the Internet for security, access, control and transaction processing is provided by an operator's / DBA workstation to allow the customer to support large numbers of real-time Internet users, devices and groups of users.
Control over access to patient records, forms, reports and transactions is extreme with security controls available for each patient, patient variable, form, report, menu, screen object and download of any report.
